HOW DO I CLEAN WINDOWS THAT HAVE WINDOW FILM INSTALLED?

Window Cleaning Tips

There are a few things you want to keep in mind when preparing to clean your window film to avoid potential damage.

Don't Scratch The Film

You want to make sure to use a soft cloth or clean, synthetic sponge to make sure you don’t scratch the window. Don’t use bristle brushes or anything else that might damage the film, including paper towels and newspaper. You also want to stay away from cleaners that are too abrasive.

Use Light Pressure

You don’t want to apply heavy pressure when you’re cleaning window film. While elbow grease might be an effective cleaning technique in most cases, it’s best to play it safe when cleaning window film. Too much pressure could potentially cause damage so just press gently and be persistent for harder to remove smudges or fingerprints.

Don't Leave The Film Wet
A squeegee is the best way to remove the cleaning solution from the window film. You don’t want to leave the film wet. You can use a lint-free towel or rag to softly wipe away any excess water left by the squeegee. If you’re cleaning the outside and inside of the windows at the same time, just be sure to get a clean sponge or towel before moving on to the other side.
